Vixen is still operating as normal, in compliance with UK Government social distancing guidelines, and we would like to reassure everyone that we are open and responding to enquiries. In the unprecedented situation we all find ourselves in, our thoughts are with the families of those fighting the COVID-19 virus and with front-line health workers around the world.
The composites wing of the business is based in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.
As one of Europe’s leading suppliers in aviation, Aerotron manufacture parts to an extremely detailed and high-end specification.
Before purchasing the Aquablast machine from Vixen, Aerotron Composites were manually cleaning parts using hand abrasion to obtain a key. This procedure was very timely and tiring to the user, and so the company set out to find a quicker surface treatment solution.
That’s when they discovered Vixen! Aerotron Composites purchased the Aquablast 1515 model which ensures the specifications are met consistently. This cabinet is the largest out of our standard range and is ideal for processing larger components, with plenty of manoeuvrability.
The 1515 model features four armholes for a two-man operation. The Aquablast uses wet blasting technology of water mixed with abrasive, to blast and degrease a wide variety of components. With the addition of water, this process is completely dust-free.
The advantages of this machine for Aerotron Composites now means they can quickly and evenly key and abrade components, even in the hard to reach areas of the parts they manufacture. This then allows the operators to complete the next steps such as painting, trimming and fitting.
The team who use the Aquablast frequently, have expressed how much quicker this process is compared to hand-abrasion. When the end result is paramount, Aerotron Composites now feel 100% satisfied and have peace of mind that they have successfully and accurately abraded the entire part in confidence.
When you begin your journey with Vixen, we will invite you to visit our UK factory to witness the machines in action and the finishes achieved. If this isn’t possible, you can always send your parts to us to process and we will ship them back to you.
Throughout the life of your Vixen machine, our aftersales team are only a phone call away to assist you. Whether that be arranging a service or ordering any spares.
“We couldn’t speak highly enough of Vixen! The Aquablast machine gives us a huge saving in terms of the amount of time it takes us to abrade parts, compared to hand-abrasion. It’s a lot more efficient, more accurate and meets the demanding specifications – with a great deal of ease and a lot more consistency.
The care shown from Vixen right from the start has been excellent. They were incredibly professional and even arranged a tour of their factory and to demo the machines before purchasing. Our technicians are all very positive with the level of service given to us. They couldn’t have been more accommodating! Vixen has even checked in on us and organised services and training, this has been handled efficiently, with minimum fuss. ”
